Privacy policy

Last updated 27 October 2026

This page explains what personal data we collect through searchinformed.com, why we collect it, who we share it with and what your rights are. In short: apart from cookie-free visitor counts, we only use analytics and advertising tools if you say yes, and we only use your contact details to reply to you.

Who is responsible

Search Informed is run by Henrik Aija in Göteborg, Sweden, who is responsible for your personal data (the "data controller"). For anything about your data, email [email protected].

What we collect and why

When you contact us

If you use the contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address and whatever you write in your message. We use it to reply and to talk about working together.

Visitor statistics (no cookies)

We use Umami, run on our own server, to count visits without cookies. It reads the page address, where you came from, your browser, operating system, device type, screen size and language, and how quickly the page loads. It also notes a few actions, such as clicking a link to another site or to our contact section, sending the contact form (not what you wrote), reaching a missing page, reading most of a page, or staying active for 30 seconds. Your IP address is used to work out your country and city and to tell visits apart, but it isn't stored. To count an active visit only once, your browser keeps a single flag in session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab. We only look at totals, not individual visitors.

Analytics (only if you agree)

With your consent we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people use, whether they sent a message through the contact form (not what it said), how they found the site, roughly where they are (country or city) and what device they use. We also use Microsoft Clarity, which records clicks, scrolling and mouse movement so we can see where the site is confusing. Clarity can replay a visit as a recording; text typed into form fields is masked and not recorded. Finally, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit and how quickly pages load. It reads page-load timings, the page address, where you came from and your browser type, and sets no cookies. We only see totals, not individual visitors.

Marketing (only if you agree)

With your consent we use the Meta Pixel to see whether our ads on Facebook and Instagram lead to visits and enquiries. It tells Meta which pages you visit here, and Meta may link that to your Facebook or Instagram account if you're logged in.

Running the site

Like every website, ours receives technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser and the page requested. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, uses it to deliver the site and protect it from attacks.

Cookies

The first time you visit, a banner asks which cookies you accept. Nothing in the Analytics or Marketing groups runs until you choose, and "Reject all" is as easy as "Accept all". You can change your choice any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page. Our cookie-free visitor statistics (Umami, above) aren't part of the banner.

Who we share data with

We don't sell your data. These companies handle it on our behalf, under agreements that limit what they can do with it:

Data outside the EU

Some of these providers are based in or use servers outside the EU and EEA, mainly in the United States. Google, Microsoft, Meta and Cloudflare are certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. For other transfers, such as Web3Forms, which operates from India, the EU's Standard Contractual Clauses apply.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

You can withdraw consent for analytics or marketing at any time under "Cookie settings". To use any of the other rights, email [email protected]. We'll reply within one month.

If you think we've handled your data wrongly, you can complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal data, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
